Places To Visit In Chennai- Gelato!

Everyone knows that I'm the kind of person who goes after anything that I find in books if it seems even mildly interesting to me. And that is exactly how my insensible obsession with gelato began. And I am talking about the real Italian goodness, not the stale yogurt they spurt into a cup at your local supermarket. The book describe it as something like rainbows sprinkled with pixie dust with a side serving of crushed unicorn horns.
So, why does only a few places in Chennai serve this? I mean, I know that the Fresco outlets claim to sell gelato and there is a special gelato outlet at the Phoenix Market City but they taste nothing like crushed rainbow, let alone unicorn horns. The ones served at Fresco taste like the normal ice creams we get at every other store and the ones at Phoenix Market City are, well, the yogurt I was talking about.

So, does gelato actually taste the same or are we being fooled into something not so magical at all? Guess I have to visit Italy to find out (not).
