Hygiene? What's that?

Yes yes. This is yet another post about the food at the beaches in Chennai. No, stop rolling your eyes. I might actually have something interesting to say.
So all of us know about the common notion that the street food in Chennai are served best only in (drum-roll please) the streets. It is observed that the true essence and taste of say, a plate of delicious pani puri will be done justice to only if it is had in the streets and not in any high-end restaurant.
It is another well known fact that the street food in the beaches are to die for (or live for?) The spring potatoes at the Beasant Nagar beach and the piping hot bhaji at the Marina have a separate fandom of their own. But do we even give a second to how hygienic they are? now, some people might argue that hygiene is subjective and I am one of them. Savoring a plate of spicy paav bhaaji from the local vendor even as I type, I definitely am not one to speak.
Now, do not ask me why I am such a cynical prick and why all my posts end with a question. I might as well let you know that I am a curious person and am in search of some answers.

  1. Street food is the highlight of any city in India and I can't guarantee about the hygiene but street food is what food should actually taste like and another perquisite, it's cheap and the same dish is 30 bucks might be sold at a high-end restaurant for 100 bucks with fancy cutlery.
