As times changed in Chennai, the people and culture changed as well and one of the famous hangout spots in Chennai right now would be "Express Avenue Mall." The mall is of 3 floors and has a theater called "Escape" as well. This mall is situated in a place where it's accessible to everyone and a place to just chill and have fun.
They have good parking for vehicles and it's spread throughout the basement and the three floors. The basement has Pantaloons and Big Bazaar as the famous spots along with Ibaco and this reasonable accessories place for women. The massage chair for 30 Rs for 15 mins is quite popular along with the chat places.
The first floor has so many famous spots like H&M, Forever 21, Starbucks, Marks and Spencers and the centre of EA where all the events like music launches and festivals are held. It's quite crowded during weekends and festival time. They are many more famous spots for shopping in the first floor.
The second floor is where Adidas, Reebok, W, Soch and a lot more shopping places are held. The whole floor is lit up with men and women along with their children rushing from one spot to another (Mostly during weekends and sale offers time).
The third floor is where I like to hangout - Starmark- A bookstore that sells chocolates and movies, games, albums and stationery and a quiet place to sit and read as well. Opposite is Lifestyle, Reliance trends and again, a lot of shopping stores.
The fourth floor is where the theatre Escape and yes, the Food Court is at. The food court essentially needs a card with the minimum amount of 100rs required and then scroll through many food places like Subway, Tibbs Frankie, Cream Stone etc. The other place is Dominoes and KFC which doesn't require a card.
Outside the food court, there is Burger King, Winterfell and Dialogue in the dark restaurants which are super famous and good places to eat. There is a scary house at the end which scares the crap out of you and homecentre for household shopping. For kids, the FUNCITY is where all the fun is with an amazing bowling rally and Tagada ride.
