                 The Madras Christian College (MCC) is a liberal arts and sciences college based in  Chennai. Founded in 1837.The college is affiliated to the University of Madras but functions as an autonomous institution from its main campus in Tambaram, Chennai.


                 
                  The college offers over 30 regular courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Arts, Sciences, and Commerce, besides undergraduate programmes in vocational streams of Archaeology, Musicology and Industrial Fish and Fisheries; and post graduate programmes in Social Work (MSW) and Computer Applications (MCA). A number of departments at the college offer M. Phil and Ph.D. programmes.

MCC has 38 departments including day and evening streams, with over 6,500 students. Half the student body are women and several faculty members are women teachers.

                     Madras Christian College has hosted Deep Woods, an inter-collegiate cultural festival, since 1980. It is typically held each year in February.

The three-day event sees participation by various colleges from Chennai and all over India with attendance touching almost 30,000. MCC, as the host college, does not participate in the festival.

The highlight of the second day of the event is a light music show, aimed at integrating youth of different ethnic backgrounds through multi-lingual music.

  A,division of Sri Ramasamy Memorial (SRM) group of Educational Institutions for higher learning, was instituted in 1996,with the approvalof the goverment of Tamil Nadu and AICTE (All Indian Council for Technical Education), New Delhi. The college is affiliated to Anna University Chennai. The college functions under the aegis of the four–decade old Valliamal Society. The society was founded for promoting the cause of education by Dr. T. R. Pachamuthu,an academician and educationist.

    The college offers seven undergraduate and seven postgraduate programs covering Engineering and Technology, computer Applications and 'Management' The national Board of Accreditation has already accredited the courses offered by the college except civil Engineering, which was commenced in 2007.EEC is among the top ranking colleges under Anna University.

Madras Crocodile Bank

                       The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology (MCBT) is a reptile zoo.The CrocBank is situated in EAST COAST ROAD at VADANEMMELI near Thiruvidandhai, close to the Bay of Bengal on the way to Mamallapuram.

                       One of the main attractions of the bank is the Crocodile Conservation Center. It is the largest breeding center of Crocodiles in india. The Crocodile Bank has supplied crocodile eggs, snakes, water monitors, lizards and iguanas for breeding programs and for exhibits. The bank also provides surplus reptiles for transferring to other zoos and exchange programs.

Kishkinta is a theme park located in Chennai, India. Kishkinta Theme Park is located near Vandalur Railway station which has a serene atmosphere, 13 km south of Anakaputhur. It was founded by Navodaya Appachan, the owner of Navodaya Studio. This Park is spread across 120 acres of vast area with a scenic landscape, bushes, fountains, decorations and designs. Along with these, the park has various entertainment places of Wave pools, water ridings, roller coasters, toy trains etc. especially for children who visits for picnics. It is named after the fabled simian kingdom in the epic. 

Places to visit in Chennai- Valluvar Kottam

Valluvar Kottam is similar like a temple chariot, dedicated to the classical Tamil poet. It is a popular monument in Chennai, stands near by a local lake. A very unique feature of the Valluvar Kottam is that it stands baseless, without the support of any pillar. The contribution of saint Thiruvalluvar in the Tamil Literature is very notable and admiring, visible through the affection returned to him by his fans through construction of this remarkable monument.

SEA SHELL..

                This is a really nice place for non-vegetarian eaters. Sea food and chicken is really nice here, preparations aren't similar for the variety they offer.
We had the butter garlic prawns which were really well cooked, the butter and garlic flavour really came out, really tasty.
Then came the Chicken Chettinad, it had a really pungent flavour, pretty strong and different, the Chicken was well cooked, a different and refreshing taste.
Followed by the Al fahm chicken, it was marinated in some yellow masala, had a really nice subtle flavour to it, well cooked and tender.
All this along with the soft kerela Paratha went really well.
